DIY Survival Bag for Wedding Dress Shopping for the wedding

Yes, now the time has come. This blog officially receives wedding increase! The wedding theme started with my civil marriage last year on 24.10.2014 and will continue this year with the church ceremony on 12.09.2015. The big celebration then takes place in a barn with lots of rustic elements (very big wishful dream!). As we design invitations, stationery and decoration for our party, I want to share some DIY ideas with you in the coming months. A wedding is simply the perfect occasion for a passionate hobbyist like me to get creative!

It starts with my little one Survival bag for my three bridal gowns shopping escorts:

So a bridal gown shopping can be quite exhausting and dragging on. My tour starts tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock, so my shopping companions from home must arrive at 6 o clock in the morning to Munich. That’s why I put together small Survival Bags for them that contain everything you need as a good referrer:

  • Pocket Coffee to wake up and stay awake
  • Dextrose for strong nerves and clear decisions
  • Handkerchiefs in case the emotions strike
  • Disposable camera for capturing beautiful moments (and old fashioned looking forward to the developed photos!)
  • Mini notebook with pen for notes on the different clothes

The bridal dress stamp I carved from stamp rubber with linoleum tool myself and then simply stamped on pink photocard. This, combined with a wooden peg and cake peg, creates an ideal closure for my survival bag. I actually wanted to write the lettering with pen and ink, but that unfortunately “bleed” too much on the kraft paper bag. What do you do as a letterer? Exactly, the secret weapon Faux calligraphy use and write the font simply with fineliner and manually “calligraphic” 🙂
